Competition is a good thing and the employees of Culligan Water Systems in Northfield are involved in a contest to improve their health while having some good-natured fun. Using NBC television hit show, "The Biggest Loser," as a model, Culligan team members can pick up cash prizes competing against each other and against other Culligan branches.
As part of the competition "kickoff week," Dr. Corbett spoke to team members about benefits of a nutritional diet, focusing on what foods and drinks to eat and which ones to avoid, the different sugars and fats, and how to realistically transition their diets.
Kudos to General Manager Tim Franklin and Office Manager Diana Lobo for their creativity and perseverance in making the competition become reality.
"I have been spending more and more time with my patients discussing wellness, including proper sleep, proper nutrition, exercise and some healthier eating alternatives to processed junk food," said Dr. Corbett. "It’s amazing how many people are very interested in living a more healthy and wellness lifestyle but really don’t have a clue where to start. This is where I come in as I see myself as a wellness coach who is very interested in helping everyone get healthy."
Dr. Corbett is currently enrolled in a postgraduate course to become a certified wellness practitioner.
